New Paint Job

Post by GLIDER »

I recently had my spider stripped and repainted by the students of the local voed program, it took a year . They did a great job with minor body work and the paint looks great - the instructors changed and I received a call saying the students had lost interest and could I come pick the car up that the remaing work would be a good do it yourself project. To say the least I'm dissapointed but the price and workmanship to date looks great. What remains is: the wiper assembly was removed and may be lost, trim was removes as well as lights and needs reinstalled and the driverside rocker panel needs to be replaced ( it was being rebuilt but determined replacing would be easier ) Having said all this I'm open for suggestions on the wiper replacement and trim repalcement. I've tackled most of the mechanical an electrical issues of the car previously but not body work excluding top replacement. Any tips that can help are appreciated.

thanks

Post in the Parts Wanted section for the parts you need. Plenty of spare used stuff around. Sounds like a nice project and some good experience for the kids that might have an interest in the automotive repair industry.

It's an 82 . They have done great work just short of finishing details.

When I had my airplane, some other guy at the airport taught shop
at the local high school. He had some students paint it, and said
he would give them an A. What he didn't count on was them using
acetone to clean off the plexiglas. It ended up costing him a
lot more than he expected.
