I recently purchased a 1974 Fiat Sport Spyder. The motor has 124,000 miles and the oil pressure gauge reads a little above 0 and idle and no higher then 5-7 at higher rpms. I've yet to drive the vehicle and I'm a little concerned. Any thoughts?
Thanks,

Re: Low Oil Pressure
Do you have a dent in your oil pan? These are low slung and prone to banging the oil pan. The pick up tube for the oil pump can get broken. If that looks OK, it may be a faulty gauge or sender. An after market mechanical gauge should tell you. Good luck. Ron
Re: Low Oil Pressure
it's really common for the gauge to read low. As Ron said, attach a mechanical gauge to test the pressure.
