Supply Problems?
Supply Problems?
My proud new purchase (1978 124 Spider) is a mess. I knew it would be a mess before I bought it and hoped that it would be worth doing. It turns out that there really is no rust so I have a nice straight body without much bondo in it. The suspension has been worked on recently and the engine has had the proper attention. However the entire interior needs to be junked and it needs a paint job, windshield and new top. Starting with the interior, where can I get seat foams? I've found upholstery, paneling and carpets at International Auto Parts. What suppliers have I missed? I'm sure that there are more suppliers that I should check before trying to purchase what I need. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thought you could get the seat foam at International. Did you ask?
also, for routine vendors I use http://www.vickauto.com and http://www.fiatparts.com and http://www.baylessfiat.com and have used http://www.fiatplus.com
There is a "supplier" I'd stay away from whose name starts with a C
Good luck, with patience you can accomplish most anything with a Fiat.

I got really nice seat upholstery, door panels, top boot, and canvas top for my '78 Spider from Bayless. I even bought from them when my '74 Sport Coupe was new.
You know what? It looks like I'll find everything I need from the people here on this BBS. Thank you so much. BTW does anyone have a lock cylinder and key for the trunk? I found a windshield today and should have it installed next week. Then to get it registered. Then to get down to the serious stuff of interior and paint.

I priced a new windshield (for grins). ABC Auto Glass in Sacramento, CA, quoted me a whopping $99 uninstalled. Pretty cheap if you ask me!
