which body filler?
which body filler?
Does anyone know the brand of body filler that I see on TV that is used on most of the auto cable channel shows? It is a light lime green and I see everyone using, especially FOOSE. It looks glow in the dark (probably for those late night body sessions) LOL.
Re: which body filler?
Is it like Bondoglass, a combination of the regular bondo and the fiberglass resin/fibers?
Re: which body filler?
That I dont know...I just know that everyone uses it and its light green on TV. I wonder if the product it gold or yellow and the activator is blue, that would make green.

I know what you are talking about, i've seen it too. It is definatly not bondo or bondoglass. Whatever the actual product is it won't be sold at your local auto parts store, and may require you to buy a bulk amount. Try going to a known good or highend body shop and pick their brain.
Re: which body filler?
Jazgeek is using this stuff per the pictures in his bodywok thread:
what's that stuff? It's certainly not neon like the other stuff you describe, but I was curious what this is. Looks like i see fibers in it, so it might be a bondoglass thing like I mentioned.
Let me know what you find out, i'm interested too.

Re: which body filler?
just found this during a google search: could this be it?
It's "Rage Gold" by Evercoat.

Oh my God, that looks contagious. Get it back in the lab!
The stuff I am talking about is like a very light, lime green sherbet color (using best food analogy) or maybe Sea Foam ( no analogy) just like saying Sea Foam.
Is has to be good stuff, cause its used all over TV.

Check out this site, it should have what you are looking for. http://www.tcpglobal.com/autobodydepot/fillers.aspx
I have used the Evercoat products in the past and i remember that the finnishing coat is a light green color. I personaly like to use "All metal" or metal glaze on all welded joints, these products are not porus like the regular body fillers, thus less mosture is absorbed into the product. Body filler is not ment to fill dips or holes greater than 1/8", if so get the body hammer out and learn to use it.

I like your thinking Ted! Nothing's worse than seeing a body panel bondoed without any metal being straightened. Less is better in this case.
