WARNING Do not use Paypal with IAP

I have been away for over a year from this forum. My Fiat was down. But I just got my Fiat back on the road and ran into a issue with IAP.

I think International Autoparts starting taking Paypal recently or they changed the way their site works with Paypal.

I bought a part from them a few weeks ago using paypal.

And I see the following on my Paypal Account

6/12 Purchase PartXYZ $125 Pending

I think No problem.

Then the next day I see that my paypal account now says this

6/12 Purchase PartXYZ $125 Pending
6/13 Purchase PartXYZ $125 Completed.

Paypal deducted $125 from my account for the authorization on 6-12

and then again Paypal deducted $125 from my account for the authorization on 6-13

I talked to IAP, They said no problem. The first one will go away in 4 days.

It hasn't. In fact I now have to wait until 7-13 before that authoriztion expires before I get the money back in my account according to Paypal. Paypal says that IAP's billing setup puts a 30 day hold on the first authoriztion.
The ironic thing is I shipped the part I bought back to IAP this week, because I didn't end up needing it. I will get my refund on the return before I get the money back on the mistaken authorization.

IAP does not return my emails on this issue anymore.

Now $125 is not alot of money, but I have made big purchases in the past and If I had bought $1000 worth of parts, I would be really angry if I had $2000 taken out of my bank account(where the paypal funds come from in this case).And had $1000 had hostage for a month for the priviledge of doing business with IAP.

I just thought people should be careful before using paypal with IAP until they fix this problem.
I needed parts yesterday for the my Fiat. I got them from Vicks.

Having delt with Paypal in the past, I suspect its more Paypal than IAP.

I buy things with paypal all the time. Using funds withheld for authorizations disppear within 4 days. I renewed my Fiat Club America membership the same day and I only got $35 deducted once. I have never had a 30 day doublecharge hold on funds before. And again, I had had many many paypal transactions.

Two words: Auto Ricambi just saying. I would confirm with IAP if going forward this is what to be expected, then make your decision from there wether or not to continue. Either way best of luck

And yes I have my parts list all ready, I'm just waiting for a verification thru my mechanic to see if I got all I needed
