Other Picture Posting OPP with pics Photobucket!

Ok So I wanted to streamline the problems people have with postings pictures/pics on the forum.

Picture size to fit on the page should be 640x480 or there about. Larger photos will be cropped off. You can edit the size in Photobucket by choosing your photo and hit edit. If needed Ill make a pic post of how to on that.

1. Get a Photobucket account http://www.photobucket.com . Easy and Free.

2. Upload pictures. Super easy, open your folder to where your pics are.If you have several folders already on Photobucket pic the folder from the drop down menu first before you upload. Click upload on the Photobucket page once signed in. Then drag and drop 1 or several photos over to the Photobucket web page.




3. After it uploads the photos an ad may pop up and play and your photos will be on the bottom left. Click on the picture so it brings up the next screen.



Now you will see your picture larger and options to the right. Just left click inside the banner that says "IMG "



4. You should have seen the text turn yellow and the word Copied . The link is now on your clip board.

5. Go to your reply post you want the picture to show in and paste that copied link into your post by right clicking and hitting paste



Hit submit and your done.

Are GIFs supported? Sometimes, it is helpful to show motion when illustrating a mechanical problem.

Yes, image and animation, but it shows as a thumbnail on the photo website...banner text everything else visible

What's up with Photobucket these days? I've had nearly zero luck in getting the site to cooperate in simply loading a page let alone uploading a photo or any other service needed to post a photo to this forum... Is everyone else having that problem? Are they overtaxing themselves with advertising to the point of impacting performance this bad? Are they experiencing a continuing denial-of-service attack from Russia/China/N. Korea/whomever?

It appears that they are trying to change the biz model and force everyone into a pay for service approach, by deliberately slowing down the free service.

Guys, photobucket is so 2004. Just use http://imgur.com/ its simple and fast.

Yeah, I'm pretty through with Photobucket. However, it'll take some time to redo the relevant photos in another system and update links in the forums.

As long as we leave the old PB account active, I suppose we wouldn't have to move any pictures across, just post the new ones on imgur.com? Would have to either go back and repost everything, or just leave both sites active. The latter is probably easier?

RRoller, yes, I suppose it would be easiest to just leave the PB photo links alone and not do any more from that site. However, in MY case, they've peed me off sufficiently that I'm tempted to remove everything from the site altogether. Time will tell if I'm too lazy to actually do it...

I'm glad to hear from Mark that there is an option. I absolutely will not use PB again.

I'm happy I don't have much on PB and am leaving too.

My problem is the constant barrage of daily emails and they ignore unsubscribe. I unsubscribe with each one.

Phtotbucket have changed their policy so you can no longer "image link" on a free account. Unfortunately this means any posts/build threads will probably show a default image, as you may already have seen, instead of the original photo.

This is affecting a lot of forums as you can imagine.
