integrated headlight install

Decided on using headlights with integrated turn signal. Decision was mostly economic as it was cheaper than buying new headlights, and custom turn signals. Downside is there is no parking lights now and the turn signal looks pretty weak in the bench test. May look ok from a distance. bought them at the local SoCal hot rod shop. less the $70 out the door for everything. (lights, bulbs, tax)
I got the ring gaskets from Ramzi, who warned me of quality and fit issues. Told me to warm them up before trying install. On first appearance they looked like train wreck. I did a "black" application on the edges and set them out in the hot sun for "softening". That made them plenty pliable, so got them to snap in ok.
A shout out to Ramzi on this as he volunteered the quality issues without me asking.
Ramzi, the fit was better than i expected and it didn't take a lot of struggling to get it in place. Now i need to figure out what i owe you.

Russ,

I don't think that small light is meant to be a turn signal. Looks like it's the European style parking light. I don't see how that will be bright enough to notice with the lights on.
Bulbs that have an integrated turn signal actually have a separate light housing at the top or bottom that is not inside the main headlight reflector area.

thanks, csaba. not the news i wanted to hear, but i have come to the same conclusion. Looks like i need a new plan. It does open up the flexibility of using a single filiment turn signal. A lot more options in that department.

I like those rings! You could change out the bulb for a standard bulb cant you? Also I made my side markers into blinkes/markes with taking the ground part of the wire and spicing it into the turn front/rear signal. They work great. WIll flash together with turn signal if markers are off and alternately if they are on. Simple mod and I think it brings a Euro flare to the car.

Buried midway through this thread (http://www.fiatspider.com/f08/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=22851) is a picture and link for the integrated set I put on. They've got a park light and a turn signal.

I confirm.
It is a european light, that we call "position light", (at list in french), and no way it could be a visible turn signal.
