My 'new' 1969 Spider

From the seller:

New tires, new timing belt ,water pump, all seals, new top and new bumpers . Car has small amount of rust for a 69! Some rust on drivers side wheel well which is any easy fix. I drive the car regularly at 80 mph! I bought the car to restore totally but money is tight and it has to go! I really hate to sell it but that's life, plus I have a 79 already restored ! The car is in good shape for a 44 year old car! The car does drive amazing for as old as it is but it has never been restored so everything is pretty original! I bought the car from the original owner's twin sons who didn't know anything about fiats. I have done some minor things to the car but pretty much just driven it around town with no problems! The car is in good shape except for a little rust on the driver's side inner wheel well , which I was going to work on the summer but the car is safe to drive and everything! I have seen some really bad cars and this is not one of those basket cases, That is why I bought it! The rims alone are worth a grand and with all the other parts its a steal ! The bumpers are NOS and almost new!

You can see the smaller, first generation tail lights

Image

It has the stainless front grill

Image

It has the flat-faced gauges with original chrome bezels, the windshield washer pump is foot activated like an old American car's high beams!

Image

It has the original 1438 engine, with it's block mounted distributor. It even still has the odd first generation centrifugal oil filter & fan clutch on the water pump! All in all, it's a very original unmolested car.

It's being shipped to me from Maryland, I'll post more when I get it.

Nice find, I'm jealous.

In Maryland too, wonder how I missed that.

Good luck, it looks great.

It engages and disengages the water pump mounted fan. A fan clutch basically. I had that set up before on my 68.

All brushes wear out. Only early 1438s were set up that way.
