Wow first thing I would tell you is to unhook the trailer you must have been pulling. Just kidding. . I would do some serious inspection of your carburetor jets.
I like Italian food and Italian convertibles
Re: Absolutely HORRIBLE Gas Mileage
it either runs very poorly (which should be obvious), you have a large leak or your neighbors are siphoning it while you sleep. Or possibly all 3

Hard to do the math even in algebra
($40.00xa)/(20/b)=x
40a/20b=x
2ab=x
2=xab
x= keep your foot out of the gas

where do you live? $40 worth of gas in Hawaii is like 2 gallons isnt it? but in North carolina it's more like 13 gallons
but seriously can you smell raw fuel? I had a leak in my return line when i originally bought the car. while running there was no detectable leaks but once stopped and shut off it would start to trickle out and even then not every time you shut down. It was tough to pinpoint but the smell was pretty clear

Re: Absolutely HORRIBLE Gas Mileage
I got down to 9 mpg once in my 79....a carb rebuild too care of that problem quickly.
Do you have a cat converter? When was the last time it was replaced?

Ok, so It runs fine, i cant smell any gas, and unless I am at school its parked in a garage (no gas siphoning).....
My grandfather and I are going to adjust the needles on the carb today (hopefully)... next step is how do i identify what carburetor i have?

there should be an ID Plate on the carb that when cleaned will show you the type.
Re: Absolutely HORRIBLE Gas Mileage
