Treating bare metal

I just got a sandblast cabinet and have been blasting a lot of parts to refinish , I want to keep all my original parts like bots and clips silver what is he best way to treat them so they won't rust ? Was looking for a product at Eastwood but not sure what to use .

As far as nuts and bolts go, media blasting will remove the cadmium plating. I don't think painting is a good replacement for the original plating. So I would either buy new hardware or have yours re-plated and paint the heads and nuts if you like.
I like to etch ferrous metals that have had rust removed with a metal prep that contains phosphoric acid and then use a quality 2 part primer.
Self etching primers instructions state not to chemically treat or etch the metal before use. Self etch primers usually need to be sealed with another primer before the color is applied.

Bear metal on car will need epoxy primer then primer 2K then paint.. I have paint thread somewhere on here.

Well I called Eastwood and the guy there tod me fast etch is the best thing . I just sprayed them and wiped them dry he said the coating left will leave a nice protection from rust .
