'most' parts are interchangable, mainly mechanical, doors should swap, I'm lead to beleive the dash and windscreen did change, just don't when it happaned, the roof (we call hood) are different over the models, the early bonnets (what you call hood) are slightly different in length, the 2L is possible you may have to the following

smaller engine mounts
2L cross member
Change bonnet/hood for clearance
possibly move the dist to the block
If a FI 2L you will need to change the fuel lines and either put a swirl tank or a 2L FI Petrol tank.

The above are possibilites, I have heard people do it with very little to modify

Anyone out there who had done can comment?
Cheers David

if you stay with 78 and earlier, you'll find more parts interchanging than 79 and later

>doors should swap

Nope, changed around 73-74.

For a '76 Spider the best donor car is 1975-76, next best 1973-78. 1974-78 had the 1800 engine.
If you want a 2000 engine you need a 1979 or newer donor.
