I would like to replace the IP clock with an oil pressure gauge on my '78. Does anyone have any suggestions for a gauge that looks similar to the others on the IP? Does anyone remember a thread on this?

Here's one - but if you do a search on "oil gauge" I'm sure you will find more.

Hi,
How do I add the sender to the port at the filter, on my late '77 build '78 CS1; it looks to me like alternator will interfere?
Thanks,
Mark

Opus, I've not done this yet and could be all wrong about the room you have between your oil filter mount and the alternator. There are some posts where people have reversed the sending units switching the existing oil light sender to the front and instaling a new electric or mechanical on the back. I've checked this out on my 82' and there is enough room for me to do it. I've just not decided to pull the trigger on this mod yet. oil light has only come on twice. Once when the oil was about a 1.5 - 2.0 quarts low because of an oil leak at that time and another time when making a very hard right hand turn at very high speed.
The electric Fiat gauges are not real accurate so i was thinking about the mechnical gauge. However, I'm just not sold on running a live oil line up to the dash. Seems like a pain in the arse when you need to take the gauge cluster out to change a bulb even if you put coils in the copper and insulate the line with rubber including a grommet through a well choosen location in the firewall. So you understand the struggle. An oil pressure gauge is always better then no gauge if you have a sudden loss of pressure.

Hi,
I'll be having another good look at it soon, the weather is finally starting to break around here...
Thanks for the suggestions; a live oil line is out for me, the blown heater valve was excitement enough!
Thanks,
Mark
