I just re-read Brad Artigues Mira article about selecting carbs/manifolds. There is mention of several types, including the DFEV which Im using, requiring a later year (75+) heater pipe.
I am asking why that is necessary as that pipe which runs under the exhaust manifold doesnt seem to interact with the carb, linkage etc.
Brad? maybe you can help?
thanks
George

Re: DFEV on 1608 question
my only thought would be that the heater pipe from a 74 and earlier does not have the nipple for the water choke

Re: DFEV on 1608 question
aah, so perhaps the statement about the DFEV having the same "cons" as the others did NOT include the need to swap the heater pipe.
Thanks
Thanks
Re: DFEV on 1608 question
you don't have to replace the heater pipe. Most of the time when we install one we connect the two choke hoses together with a splicer. It makes a convenient spot to bleed the cooling system
