Rookie brake job
Rookie brake job
I'm attempting to fix the brakes myself on my 83 spider. Here's the deal so far: car sat for 6 years. There was no brake fluid left when I stated working on it. Filled resovoir and did a bleed. At first, pedal went right to the floor. After bleeding, fronts seemed to work but rears did not. Drivers side rear is seized to the point I can barely turn the tire and passenger rear wheel turns but does not lock at all with pedal pressed. Brake pedal also still seems to be spongy. I went to remove rear drivers side calliper by pulling pins and knocking out the blocks as described in my shop manual. However, calliper won't budge. Any suggestions as to where I should start?

Re: Rookie brake job
Trust the emerg brake is released. Ok then get the emerg cable off the calipers. Try that if you haven't done so already.

Time to get out the hammer... It sounds like you need a pair of reman rear calipers.
