I am looking at re-chroming my '78 124 tube style bumpers, but the costs that I am finding in SW Florida are coming in around $550-$600 for each bumper!!! I have been looking at using the "old style" bumper conversion like those Mr. Fiat sells ($890) and I do like the look, but I am concerned about what to do with the turn signals. Does someone make a light conversion kit that fits in the original cowl holes? Any good/bad experiences, etc. with this switch?

Have you looked at Paul's Chrome.

I was thinking of going with this http://www.autoricambi.us/product/RE4-4 ... --1975-85/
and this http://www.autoricambi.us/product/RE4-4 ... --1975-85/ not a bad price and only 20 pounds each in weight.Just a idea

Hello
I bought a pair off round turn signal lights from Factory five racing (ala 60's Cobra.)
The look period correct and were an easy install.

Why not just sand them down and rattle can them Brilliant Silver or Black? If you're bumpers are like the rest of them, the chrome is flaking off. I was going to do that but my parts car had pretty nice bumpers and some steele wool really polised up that old chrome.

If you buy the 'old style' chrome bumper conversion, be sure to ask the seller about fit. The ones I've seen have some issues. Not insurmountable, but not what one would expect for the price. Because of this we pulled them from our store and just sell them on an individual basis with 'full disclosure' and at a much lower price.

I bought the stainless tube bumpers from autoricambi and they are very nice. The only old bumper conversions I've seen that look good, have taken alot of work. I think Rahmsay even said they are lighter.
