Recommendation on good marque car magazine

Post by surfingfreeman »

Got an offer in the mail from "Hemming's sport's & exotic car" for a 12-issue subscription for $10! Might be online access only, have read mixed reviews on the mag. Can anyone recommend a good marque car mag that covers at least our "types" of cars every once-in-a-while? Thanks

I don't know how often our cars appear, but two magazines that come to mind are:
Classic Motorsports
Classics Monthly
1980 Spider 2000 F.I. (my hobby)
1970 MGB GT (my other hobby)
2008 Ford Expedition (daily driver)
2019 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Standard
2019 Harley-Davidson Iron 883 Sportster

I took the $10 subscription and enjoy Hemmings mag....even saw our own BaltoBernie submitted something to them! The magazine includes auction sales, and restorations of affordable classics that are nice comparisons to our Fiats. Hard to go wrong for $10.

Nice article! Is it me or do a lot of articles/tv shows brush off the spider, or ignore it all together? It's silly I think, the spider looks better than all the alternatives in my (correct) opinion. It's great to see a spider come out on top in a shoot out. Even if it had a fresh resto and several upgrades.

This month's Hemmings Sports & Exotics includes a real nice article on a very sharp 69 850 Coupe. You don't see many of those.

Here's my list:
Hemmings Motor News
Hemmings Classic Car
Hemmings Sports & Exotics
Road & Track

and my favorite:
Sports Car Market http://www.sportscarmarket.com/

And yeah, I meant to complement Bernie for his neat letter about Spider convertable tops compared to the silly British erector sets.

I met the owners of Classic Motorsports at a rally a few months ago. There may be a Spider/Dino article in a future issue.

Subject Dino is a professionally-done fresh restoration. Absolutely gorgeous. One morning found our two cars briefly together working the switchbacks. The two different engine sounds blended beautifully!

I get both Classic Motorsports and Sport and Exotic, along with R&T and Grassroots Motorsports. If I had to do away with all but one,my keeper is Hemmings Sport and Exotis. No question...hands downClassic Motorsports is great if you are a British car guy. That is 90% of their content.Hemmings is a mag for all sports car guys and feature Italian,German,French, along with the Brit stuff. They are the only magazine to show up and cover Fiat Freakout.Love their magazine! Take advantage of the $10 offer and I guarantee you will re-up when it expires.
Craig Nelson

1982 Spider 2000...pride and joy
1981 Fiat X1/9..gone but not forgotten
1976 124 Spider..the self-healer
2001 BMW 328ci daily driver and track car
