Re: To all Ozzie's
I saw the listing earlier this evening but I just noticed it has since been removed???
It actually looked like a fairly nice car and the price, quite resonable.
I think he may have had the bumpers custom made, not toooo bad and quite interesting - but not really to my liking.
They look like a cross between the towel rail in my bathroom and a 4x4 nudge bar.

The listing has been removed from eBay and will be listed on car sales.com.au
This has been confirmed by the owner.

I saw the ad recently too and noticed the interesting bumper conversion. Not to my liking either I must say. I like the 4x4 nudge bar analogy - sums it up pretty well.
I'm sure they would have been a custom make. ( I think it might have said so in the wording of the ad somewhere ).
The bumpers have occupied my thoughts since I've owned my Spider and even before I owned one. I initially thought I would go for replacing the bulky bars with some reproduction ones. I've now decided I don't want to make my car look older than it really is - so I'm going to "tuck" the "Big Ones".
It's not the bars that offend me - it's the way they look like an overshot jaw in profile! Reminds me of James Bottomtooth in Family Guy!

I wish him well, it is a tidy looking unit and a neat color too.PininF wrote:The listing has been removed from eBay and will be listed on car sales.com.au

Re: To all Ozzie's
I sent the owner an email via eBay as i was contemplating to take it on considering it was being offered at such a good price and knowing that it would fetch much more here in Melb , also to use it for some parts swap with my recently acquired 79.
The owner has decided to list the car at car sales.com.au at a later time as he was being told that his asking price was far to low on eBay.
This will put me out of the running for the car but Im sure will make someone very happy.
