Spider 2000 1981 Not Starting After Stall

Well. Went out for another lesson in my car, but when I backed out of the garage it stalled. Sure, no problem. I stall a lot at the moment. But when I went to start it, it just turns over. I have spark, I checked. And when I press the lever on my AFM the pump runs. So I know it's working. When it turns over the AFM metal bar flickers like normal... Is there something I'm missing? It has been running and starting fine.

I'd check for spark by pulling a spark plug and grounging it on the motor then turn the motor over and see if you have spark.

So I assume I don't have gas squirting out of my injector. If my pump is going when I pull the AFM I assume the inline fuse is good. It stopped SUDDENLY. Backed up, stalled and the car didn't want to start again. I've been starting it for months. I've taken four rides in it with no problem. Ran it for 10 minutes earlier today just to run it.

Just pulled the fuse. It's toast... soooo... if I put another in there will it fry? What should I look for? What the heck kind of fuse is this? It's pink. I think I have white and maybe... bronze colored...

I have yellow, black and red. What do I need to order? Hoping it doesn't just blow again. I'll order a bunch.

Run to whatever the local version of auto zone is and pick up a pack of the style of fuses. Or multiple packs. It should say on your blown fuse what amperage it is for. Just take it with you and tell them you need that color.
Pop it in, if it blows again it could be a short somewhere in the wiring. Or something more complicated cause it's fi and not simple carbed like mine.

Looks like 16. I have one. I bulked up on fuses. I'm going to check for power and then ground continuity first. If all is good, I'll stick the fuse in and hope it doesn't blow again.

Arghhh... well I've discovered that the problem is electrical. Wish I put this in the electrical section, but I wasn't sure yet.
I tested both sides of my fuse. The black side tests for power and the red side must be hitting ground somewhere. I put a new 16A fuse in to test it out and POP! Arrrghhh..... Anyone know where this red wire leads? It goes up into the harnes and gets eaten up by the rest of the wires which are all wrapped in black under the dash. I'm sure many of you have looked under there.

Raise your hand if you can guess what I found!
I don't think this is new. It's old. And must have gotten moved a little during driving etc... If you've followed my thread, you know the car was kept under a tarp for a WHILE. Thought I got rid of everything left. I was wrong. Nothing is fresh here, so I just need to figure out how to get in there. Am I going to need to take my dash apart completely?

Well. I sucked everything out with the vac. There wasn't much in there. I'm not seeing any issues... I Need a wiring diagram that I can read. The Artique one I ahve is hard to read. I think it says brown/white on one end of the fuse, but mine are not. Still poking around.

There are 2 stock Fiat inline fuse holders. One of them has a black feed wire (hot all the time) and a red output wire. This fuse holder is for the cigar lighter.
The other inline fuse holder is fed from C17 a 4 terminal block (hot all the time) both wires on the factory fuel injection in line fuse are brown/white.
Your photo above with the nut shells shows the white C17 with the brown/white and black wire in one terminal. The black wire is for power windows. The brown/white feeds the fuel injection in line fuse. The fuse holder is in the same area.
If you hear the fuel pump run when you move the flap in the air flow sensor then the fuel injection fuse should be good.

The one that keeps blowing is in the red holder. Two black wires going in one side and red going out the other. Still can't start the car. I'm going to go look at the other inline fuse. I thought I was looking at the C14 one you mentioned, but now that you mention it... I don't think I was.

I meanC17
Of course. That still doesn't explain why my 16amp is blowing now. And this all came on suddenly... and so it goes.

BINGO!!! Looked at the WHITE fuse holder which was the one I thought I was already looking at. Thanks for pointing it out! Pulled it, cleaned it and snapped it back together. Revved right up and started. It must have vibrated loose. It doesn't secure the same way as the red one. I wish it did. GREAT!!!
