Hello all,
Im looking for a little help. I have been through searching for this question alot, and Im learning the search engine is more vague than my patience, not to knock it at all, Ive learned tons from that search of this site already.
I have on the center section of the dash on my 1972 Spider 2 round knobs, one (the left one) looks to be speed of the wipers. If I turn it left or right the motor for the wipers goes faster and slower. The second knob (you guessed it, the right one!) is to the right of the hazards, and seems to have a picture of a wiper with hash marks so Im guessing thats the intermittent switch. It also does absolutely nothing when its position is changed. The stalk on the column has 3 positions, all the way up is off, while the center and down position seem to be the same in regards to any change of the way the wiers behave.
I managed to rebuild the motor by myself, and lube the wiper transmission into a nice state of movement. (I no longer need it in a vice to make it move) So all in all what are the various components of the wiper system supposed to be, it seems like I have one redundant piece in the mix here, or am I just not getting it? I have no paperwork, or owners manual but have found diagrams on the interweb so I at least know whats supposed to be what.
Any one have any thoughts?
So much on this car has been in great shape that I cant complain, but I have learned that if you dont know research, if you cant find it ask. Especially with some of the PO stories Ive come across on the site. Thanks for your help.

Re: How to curse in Eye-Talion
I'll bet there are ten people posting the answer at the same time.
But here you go.
The two round knobs, one is wiper speed and one is the dash lights reostat.
The three positions of the wiper switch. Up of course is off.
Middle is intermitent. Very unusual back in the day. The speed of the intermitance can be governed by the reostat.
Bottom is wipers on. Also speed controlled.
Reproduction owners manuals are readily available. Doesn't change too much from one year to the next.
72"s are my favorite year. Post a picture.
