Post by basman »

Getting ready to install new control module and coil (79 fiat spider). Looks like a simple bolt on project. Anything I should know first???

I am assuming that you mean the small control module that mounts under the coil: Make sure that you use the "thermal grease" that comes in a little squeeze packet with the control module, when you mount it on the heat sink. Without it the CM will overheat and fail quickly.

Car dies after it is run and sits or gets hot. Electrical.....tac drops to 0. I was advised that this was the control module and it looks like the original coil so it thought it was time to change it also.

also check the white wire from the connection point of that module all the way to the dizzy, they get brittle and fray and can cause all sort of issues.

Coils almost never fail. Module is a good guess.
