79 spider 2000

well so far since finding this site ive had a lot of help from reading post of others problems and from the other members.so well so far im trying to get my car roadworthy to move out of state in the next few months and so far Ive done tune up on the motor (oil change, added mechanical oil gauge with copper tubing, spark plugs/wires) caped off the heater core, swapped out whole rear end from a 72-74 spider used my brakes and rotors as the other ones were very rusty on the other rear end. the original rear end was shot badly .have most of the electrical up to par i need to find a used set of power window switches.replaced non working alternator with 65amp Bosch alt. that alone helped a lot of the electrical issues. my windshield wiper motor turns on i can hear it but the arms do not move i need to remove and see if i can repair it? my left tail light keeps getting a bad ground on the circuit board i need to drill out the rivets on the socket and use small bolts or something.
still need to change oil in the transmission i haven't be able to source GL1 gear oil locally.
have a bad rust hole under passenger seat but as far as rust goes there are only a few place one spot on lower driver door and small hole to the left under the clutch pedal on the floor. maybe be other places but the main areas to look at for rust problems haven't been in that bad of shape...so far.

You can get GL-1 from several of the Fiat vendors. Look for the links in the forum.
Sounds like possibly your wiper linkage is binding up. Happened on my '69, motor turning fine but the linkage not moving. Pretty easy to pull the cowling and lube it all up. How to lube it is a whole 'nuther discussion.

We should all support our vendors, but I'm not so sure about shipping GL 1.

Get it from your neighborhood NAPA. Part # NHF 65201

I think the gallon is about $11.

The linkage usually rusts/binds where it passes through the cowl. However, if that is the case the motor could not run.
I wonder if someone already disconnected the linkage from the motor.

have the gas tank installed had too let it cure a few days and gave me time to get the filler line to the tank acquired have everything installed gauge works as far as i can low on money so only bought 2 gallons so its above the 0 and the light flickers when i hit a bump but that's to be expected as its only so much fuel. now to take off the wind shield wipers and try to get them unfroze..... more to be continued....
