Has anyone bought the floor pans sold by Derby Auto Parts of E-bay? (E can be for evil) They are only $39 each plus $20 for shippping, and made of 18 gauge sheet metal. I need drivers front and probably both rear. Thanks.

I got mine (passenger front and rear) for 117 shipped from rockauto. So can go either way for about the same price.

Thank you very much for responding. Hate to patch up some semi serious holes, guess I'm going to learn about a cutoff wheel, and look for someone who can Argon/Mig weld. Wish me luck. I'll post some pics.

O.K. so I just got my 81 spider and noticed that the floor pans along side of the seat rails and frame are totally rusted through. Any suggestions on how to repair this?

You need to do some digging under/around the inner sill, maybe remove the outer sill under the door so you can see in there. You may have more rust than you can see, there is a seam right there and it's a COMMON rust spot which can get bad real fast!

Thanks Pedro. I haven't gotten that far yet. Still sorting out the engine stuff. I did check the hard fuel lines though, look good. Gonna flush them with some CLR and a pump to get the crud out. I will definitely pull the carpet ( or what's left of it) and see what I am dealing with. I see a MIG welder in my near future. LOL. By the way I found nice cheaper carpet kits at: http://www.stockinteriors.com/CutSewnCa ... odelId=700

I also found floor mats that look AWESOME here on EBAY:

I was in recent contact with an old friend that that had a 1980 fi spider and he told me after showing pics of the floor pans told me to replace the floor pans and cross members as well as the under pan front to back rails. Structural stability is more safety issue here.
