My car has been running great for a few weeks now. Since I replaced the lost exhaust bolt.and put my timming correct. Tues drove out to friends house 40 miles away. The car never missed a beat. ( very hot out 95) got there finished installing the dash in his 81 and had lunch went to start my car and all it would do is turn over.went to local auto store picked up coil because it didn't seem to have any spark. Hard to start but did. Show I shut it off went in and had some cocktail and watched the fireworks. Came back out and same as before.no start. Any ideas.?

First thing I would check would be the wires for the magnetic pickup inside the distributor. They often are found with the insulation gone (cooked off - it gets hot in there!) and the result is no spark.

What shape are the injectors in? Have they been cleaned/checked? Perhaps they might be sticking open and flooding the engine a bit after shutting it off. Perhaps check the plugs a bit after shutting down and see if they are wet. The intake is of course is in good shape eh. Good grounds for the injectors.. All the sensor conectors on. I had a lousy connection at the coil end of the white wire. I zap-strapped it tight.
Those were some of the issues I've run accross with mine..

You didn't mention if the brake, exhaust sensor and seatbelt warning lights are lite when the car doesn't start. Usually if they are not lighting the problem is no voltage to the coil from the ignition switch. Check the connector behind the ignition switch for poor connection.

Screw fell out inside the dizzy. Running great now.was running 120+ on the highway last night playing cat and mouse with a mustang gt ,BMW m3 , ferrari. Yes they could all walk away from me at any moment but I Hung with them for about 20 miles and they all stated they have a new respect for my spider lol no better way to kick off my birthday

Tony, gotta love the easy fixes eh....
playing tag with a BMW M3... my friend just bought a 06 cabrio and dropped by two days ago with it. Went for a drive and WOW again, smg tranny, kinda neat but I'd be thinking I'd have to take out a second mortgage if it ever went pear shaped.
