you may have noticed I haven't been quite as active on the forum lately. I've been putting together a semi-pro women's soccer team. We played our first match Saturday. Here's the link to the article in our local paper;

I'd been involved in youth soccer for a long, long time. For the past 8 years I'd been bringing teams over from N Ireland as part of a project that put Catholic and Protestant kids together on trips to help break down prejudices that were causing the sectarian conflicts there. A young girl that stayed with us the first year has been coming back and just graduated from college here. She has gotten a job here in So Cal, so we needed a high-level team for her. She plays on the N Ireland National Team, so we started putting this thing together about a year ago, and here we are. I've got my own sports franchise! And I have been busy!
I now have a young lady from Canada staying with me, and the player from N Ireland arrives at the end of the month. I've just gotta teach them how to fix Fiats

I did see it, the title "Goal, the Dream Begins". There is a movie coming out in a few weeks starring Elizabeth and Andrew Shue about their experience in high school when Andrew gets hurt and can't compete on the hs soccer team any longer. His sister steps in since there isn't a girls' team. The story deals with her efforts to make the team and compete. Movie is called "Gracie"
