REMOVING OLD SOFT LINES (BRAKES)
AM I MISSING A WRENCH.... CANT BREAK LOOSE THE OLD SOFT LINES OFF OF HARD LINES.... FRU FRU FRUSTRATION

A flare nut wrench is a big help. Sears has a good selection.

Yeup...10mm flare wrench. Just finished re/re the rear end on my car. Going to need a 17 mm wrench as well to hold the soft line at the hard line conection.
If they have not been mucked with for awhile...try and tighten them just a tad and then undo. Picked up that tip here and it has worked wonders...so far.

If I am replacing them and they are being difficult I just cut the hose so I can put a deep socket on it. A flare nut wrench with vice grips clamped over it to keep it from spreading works well on the metal tube portion.

wow what a difference the right tool makes.... tightening a little was a great tip also.... new soft lines and all caliipers rebuilt.... Matt
