Flex joint

For peace of mind, I'll change my flex joint soon since I don't know how old it is and also because the car is coming from Florida. Looking through all the regular sellers, I found that AutoRicambi is selling a tougher joint http://www.autoricambi.us/cgi/commerce. ... =DR5-401-Z instead of the regular one http://www.autoricambi.us/cgi/commerce. ... ey=DR5-401. The question : Since my car is stock (for now) and I drive it as it should be, as a gentlemen, if I install the heavy duty one, will it last really longer or the rubber will be dried out for both in the same time so their is no point to buy it?

Probably would depend on how you expect to really drive your Spider and where you will be driving (hills, curvy roads, etc. vs flat city streets). Since you're going through the trouble to replace it anyway, think of the "high performance" version as $23 of extra insurance. It never hurts to upgrade if your budget allows.

My car has 20% more HP than stock, and I've been known to "keep up with traffic" on group rides. After 14k miles, no sign of wear on the standard guibo. Spend the $23 on other rubber bits.
