I know there are quite a few guys right now in the same situation as me. We've all got our interiors torn out and we're protecting our cars the best we can from getting rusty any faster than they need to. I've done a lot of reading and it sounds like one of the main failures many Italian cars had were that they were not prepared for moist climates.
What can we do during our restoration to help our little sports cars? Obviously, reducing the amount of current rust and treating the areas is #1. Are there any modifications that can be done? I've read people talking about sealing vent holes and I've heard about people leaving them open. Can I add vents somewhere? Etc... What did Fiat do wrong?

fiberglass the footwells to protect from wet boots and the accumulation of any rain that gets past the top/windshield/w.h.y.. Also is a good idea to undercoat all the chipouts and stuff every fall before winter driving. Fender liners are the best things going for these cars if you dont have them already.

I plan on buying fender wells. I saw that the fenders at IAP are $92. Is that for a set or per item? Does anyone know?
I don't plan on driving it in the rain or snow, but just in case I do. Or if I hit a puddle of salty water on a dry day. I want to be as covered as possible.

I too am covering my floor. I will be using POR15. Two schools of thought, one: leave vents open for air two: seal everything I am going with the ladder. If I seal everything then even if water gets in it will have no where to go and I can just clean it out.
