Post by wheel2reel »

Hi
We are a company called Wheel2Reel Ltd supplying cars for use in television and film.
We are currently working on a television series called the “Antiques Road Trip” and are looking for a variety of Classic convertible cars to hire for a period of up to three months for use on the program.

This is our second year of supplying vehicles for this particular series and we are looking for a total of 32 Classic convertibles. The vehicles must be fully road legal and in a presentable condition, taxed and with an MOT certificate.

We are offering to pay a total of £1,000.00 for the use of your vehicle over a defined period.
All vehicles will be transported on our fleet of vehicle transporters to and from set location but will be driven during filming. Whilst in our possession the vehicles will be fully insured by us.

If you are interested or have any questions please feel free to contact us on 07564 493523 or email us matt@wheel2reel.com

Thank you for taking the time to read this and hopefully we will be hearing from you soon.

Not sure I'd let my car be driven by someone I don't know, let alone have it away from me being used who-knows-how for months at a time.

I did a quick search on the web and found that they have a web site with more info: http://www.wheel2reel.com/Default.aspx

Looks like a band of brothers run the place (Paul, Steve, & Matt Weekes).

I know what my brother and I did with cars.

I have had my cars listed with a local classic car "agent" and have had several of them in print ad and TV commercials. No one drove my car but me though. It can be fun and you can make a few bucks, but it is not a good idea to go into something like that without an experienced agent. Decent chance of your car getting damaged or abused, and then you are dealing with their insurance company and your messed up classic car. what are the chances you'll be thrilled with the results? My agent told me the worst chance of damage is in TV Shows & in movies. especially if the car is being driven or near action.

That is the only way I would do it if I was with my car 24/7 and I drove it but mine has be customized so I do not think they would want mine if they are wanting period correct

My former Corvair is in the movie "Tin Men" with Danny DeVito and Richard Dreyfuss when I lived in Baltimore in the late '80s. I was paid $150 for them to use it one day. It was parked along a street. One of the actors (its been a long time since I've seen the movie) leans against the back of my friend's convertible Corvair when they come out of court near the end of the movie. He got paid $300 because they specifically used it in a scene.
