Glovebox/Lower console fit

My glove box door is somehow out of alignment. I removed it and made sure the box itself was straight, and it seems to be. But the door hits the center section above the radio console. Brackets are straight, and the center section hasn't been messed with. Any suggestions as to why, or how I can move the door over juuuusst a tiny bit, say maybe 1/8 inch to clear the contact with the center piece? I hate to have to take a file or saw to it if not necessary.
Also, I removed my old beat up lower console. It was cracked and broken, so when I took it out I just kind of pulled, pryed and forced it off over the hand brake lever. The I realized a new one obviously can't be "pushed, pryed and forced" into place! I assume I'll have to remove the hand brake lever to get the new one on? Is there an easy way to either remove it, or perhaps release some tension on it so that it will flip out of the way?
While I'm on the subject of consoles, I need to replace my upper radio one as well. Any advice on replacing it, as far as mounting, attachment points, etc? My old one is already out and gone. I will be doing them both at the same time, most likely.
TIA for all your continuing help and advice. My "Rosa" is coming along swimmingly!
