Any Ham Radio Spider Owners?

Post by tartan18 »

This is way off topic but I wonder if there are any Ham Radio operators on this Forum. My call sign is WH7RG (General Class) and I have a Yaseu FTM-10SR installed in my 1975 Spider. This radio was designed (intended) for a motorcycle application (it even has a built-in intercom capability) but it suits my needs perfectly as I only work the local repeaters (2m and 70cm). Its small size also tucks easily into the glove compartment. A neat feature of the FTM-10SR is that it also has a line input where I can plug in my iPod. FM broadcast reception is good but the AM is poor due to my antenna type.

Yep ! KD1WO here. Extra Class Been a ham longer than a Spider owner.
First licensed as a teen, allowed the ticket to lapse for quite a while, got back into it in the '70's.

My Dad was K1YTY here in Mass, participated in the M.A.R.S. program during Vietnam. Man does that bring back memories. I sure miss the old fellow. Thanks for bringing this up. {:^)
