Using 300W radiant heater to cure VHT paint on Ex manifold heat shield. (Heater is also great for working under car in cold garage!) $20 @ http://www.amazon.com/Optimus-H-4110-9- ... B000GG8DTS
For paint cure, used 3-30 min. cycles, cool and rotate position of part between cycles. Hope it is better than curing on car! Definitely better than discussions with Wife about using oven!

I cured my VHT painted wheels in the kitchen oven. (Don't tell the wife). The smell was ok, but it did linger for about a day..... made up some sort of excuse.

The line is long enough, thanks. (But, should a longer line form, I'm no more of a Saint than Jimmy Carter!)124JOE wrote:well they should be lineing up "with that car"

Update: After baking the VHT flameproof paint on the heat shield 2 or 3 times at different angles with the radiant heater, all of the fumes seemed to be baked off. Then I put it in the oven for 30 min. @ 475F - highest it would go. No fumes, no drips, and a hard, porcelain-like finish. (And happy Wife!) We will see how it holds up on the car. (But it's just finally getting COLD here!)
