Contorl Arm Torque Specs

Post by katsi »

I've replaced my upper and lower control arms in my 79 and it's the first time I have ever worked on suspension (pretty easy once you do it once. It only took 2 hours to tear down the driver side and put back together once I worked through the passinger's side - you don't want to know how long that took - extra cautious.) Anyway, the book I have says that the lower control arm only gets torqued to the cross member with 40 foot lbs. That seems kinda low to me how about you? Especially sinse they are not lock nuts. can anyone confirm or debunk this. :?: 40 lbs just does not seem like enough to keep them from comming loose.

ANYONE?
