gearbox paper gasket

Hi all,
Before I put my Spider up for sale I decided to fix the leaking gearbox. My question is on the paper gasket are you putting any gasket sealer on or rtv. The PO had put blue rtv on thats why i'm asking. Its the gasket that goes on the gearbox pan. I know this seems like a silly question but the one thing i've learned from this being my first fiat is to ask as many stupid questions as you can.

I have to say. I put my pumpkin cover on with a new gasket and it leaks. So I would put gasket sealer on. Just make sure you don't put too much to where it goes inside. Now I have to use sealer to fix it.

I prefer using a true gasket cement rather than silicone with these types of gaskets. Also make certain that the flange on the pan is straight. Many times they get deprssions around the boly holes and will not seal properly.
