I have all my parts. I've seen variations of installations on various years, but I need a stock shot. I don't know how these go back together. Not sure why I'm having trouble. I have both shields and can't figure out how to install them.

Reading through a lot of threads about fuel pumps. Do a lot of people move their pump from under the car to the trunk? What is the benefit? Just keeping it better protected?

The FI cars have their pump and filter mounted under the car. I thought the electric pumps being moved to the trunk were for the most part on the carb'd cars.
Mine and others have worked just fine under the car.
I'll bring my camera to work today and try and get a few pics of the pump and filter.

That would be a huge help. These are all the pieces I have. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to have more. There are two brackets under the car that these attach to. I'm sure you know.

Not the best pics. I hope they help.
On the weekend I had the car up on the hoist but these were just leaning under the car.

hope this might help a little bit.
The bracket is for the filter. I changed mine out on the weekend and there was a rubber liner that separated the filter from the steel bracket. With time the steel alone would wear a hole in the aluminum filter. There are rubber bushings on your car for the fuel pump right.

Looks like I'm supposed to have some strapping around the fuel pump too huh? Hmmmm... May have to fabricate that. And I see a rubber lining? I have the rubber for the fuel filter still. Awesome. Big help. That is kind of how I thought it went. I really wasn't sure what direction the shield for the fuel pump went. I can't wait to install these.

I see a lot of online vendors have generic Bosch fuel pump holders. I'll go to the local shops and see if I can score one.

I do. But I don't have the metal clamp that goes around my pump.

Wow. I had no idea there was supposed to be a shield/housing for the pump and filter. I mean, it makes sense, being under the car. But mine has neither, so with the new pump and filter I have, they are "wikkid exposed," as they would say where I grew up (MA - South Shore).

I have the ring holder around the pump, but no curved metal case to surround the filter, and no flat plate to protect the pump. Unless the previous owner had it stashed away in the car somewhere... there were some misc. pieces floating around in the trunk and inside the car when I got it. I'll have to look.

If not, I guess it's a trip to the "parts wanted" section!

No luck at my local shops. No fuel pump brackets. Time to surf the net or fabricate one.

I didn't have the normal pump so I just fabricated a cover.

Hmmm... I can't find any fuel pump brackets that will fit that won't break the bank online. I'm thinking home depot or something might have a 2" pipe bracket I could retro fit to work with some rubber.
