Tri-bar headlights?

Has anyone tried 7" round tri-bar headlights on a spider?

It's sort of an old English, Lucas look, also seems to have been picked up by some bikers and by some hot rodders, like on vintage Mustangs.

I have thought these would be a good choice for front turn signals when deleting bumpers.

Sorry, not to my tastes. Saw a set on the lawn at FFO. Maybe whoever has them installed on his Spider can post a photo to give you an idea of how they look on our cars.

Perhaps on a very early euro-spec Spider, a set of original or reproduction Lucas Tripod headlamps would look good, but these are too gimmicky for me. I'd also have to question their effectiveness, with all those facets in the reflector.

Just my opinion, and you know what they say about opinions ...

Thanks Bernie, I do value people's opinions - and that is why I asked. Having seen a spider with a set of tri-bars at FFO, you are in a good position to let me know your impressions.

I think that there are a couple of reservations I have about them:
1. quality and quantity of light output - just because they take an H4 doesn't mean the beam will be good;
2. fairly flat face of lens - with the lights recessed a bit as they are on the spider, I am not sure that will look very good.

Probably better to look into cheap mod/bulb type modification for stock housings, then save up for way better housings, properly designed to get the most out of a good H4.

I am also looking at options that would incorporate an amber turn signal (LED if possible), and have found a few so far, but not really great lights (most are also not DOT) - one of the first I found was one of the tri-bar styles, which led to this thread in the first place. I like the options where the turn signal is clear when off, to keep a more original look to the lights. This kind of setup would be great for bumperless cars.

those are some good prices on the tri bar lights. and I think they look great I had forgot all about them . was looking at them for one of my customers when I was building his bike. and they run about $100 on the bike parts catilogs I also like the turn signal / head lights nice idea

For $55 per pair, I am tempted. But if I were able to find a really good Hella-type quality 7" assembly with an all-clear lens and amber LED blinkers, I might splurge.

With the lights on, you might not even see the tri-bars. If its mounted on the outside of the lens, you could probably take it off.
