Hi Guys
I recently picked up a '73 Spider, and have a question about the boot cover. The cover that came with the car is in pretty good shape, but I'm curious how it was supposed to attach from the factory. Does anyone have any close up photos of their covers and attachment methods that they could share? I'm mainly concerned with the sides, as I don't see how the sides are supposed to attach to the car.
Thanks,
Josh

Re: Boot Cover Attachment?
theres 2 plastic caps in the ends of the boot
they have hooks pointing down, when top is down theres 2 screws on the top frame sticking out
and a snap on the side panel. do up both sides and 2 hooks that hook on the bar that drops down into the back seat
hope this helps
do ya still need pics?

Re: Boot Cover Attachment?
Thanks for the information. I know for sure, then, that I'm missing the plastic caps. I don't recall seeing any screws on my top frame either. I do have a snap on each of the side plastic panels, and a small hole on the boot cover where the snaps should be, but no snaps. That I can fix, but I'll definitely need the plastic caps. If you get a chance I think that I would like to see some photos. I appreciate the help!

I got mine at IAP. Ridiculously priced but important.Newell33 wrote:t I'll definitely need the plastic caps.
There are also the "Fish Brackets" (That's what IAP calls them), the metal bars with the loop that goes through the rear of the cover onto the chrome pieces on the car's rear deck. Do you have those?

Re: Boot Cover Attachment?
Perfect! That's exactly what I needed to see. I do have the hooks on the back of the boot cover, as well as the chrome hooks on the rear deck. It looks like I'll just need to get a couple of the plastic caps, and double check the top frame for the attachment points. If anyone has any decent used caps that they'd like to sell, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll grab some at IAP.
Thanks,
Josh

I recommend buying them at http://autoricambi.us They're $18.90 each. http://stores.auto-ricambi.net/Categories.bok IAP charges $22.50. You'll find them used on Ebay occasionally, but the shipping usually makes them more expensive that either vendor.
