Check this out. Imagine about 600 miles on a tank of gas, using only 10.4 gallons! Way farther than my bladder will run without stopping, it performs better than a Smart Car, as I recall, is faster 0-60 than some of our smogged FIATS were back in the day.

Bolt that into the nose of a spider and get better performance, less weight, and better handling.. and probably better miliage on top.. what is not to like?

Some interesting comments follow the article. Amazing how many fall into the "big is safe, small is a deathtrap" variety. All of the car manufacturers, not just Fiat, will have a difficult time of it convincing the American driver that it is safe to drive a sub 4,000 pound vehicle.
Gas has been near $4.00 for a while now, and I don't see anyone changing their driving habits much. 57mpg is awesome. What will it take?

I don't even drive my F150 much. I can't afford it. Everyday I do drive it, it costs at least ten dollars. I have a Toyota Solara and filling it up is starting to get to the point I used to fill up the truck. I can't remember the last time I had more than 1/4 tank of gas in the truck. I definitely need something with better fuel economy. I can't wait till the truck is paid off.
I have a Harley and I can remember when I put a K&N air filter on it. I had to change the jets in the carb so it would run right. Boy that made a big difference in how much gas it used too.
