Replacement Dash
I started replacing my dash yesterday. The original dash came out easy, but the replacement presented a problem; the metal anchors that are set in the plastic at the top of the dash stripped and came out of the plastic when I tried to tighten the srews (these are the ones at either side of the defroster vents that hold the dash in palce). Now the only 2 points that will actually secure the dash in place are the 2 at either corner at the bottom of the dash. Any suggestions on how to now secure the top of the dash would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Re: Replacement Dash
i think i know which parts you are reffering too! i had the same prob ... but i may have a solution if you kept the 2 parts that came off. What i did was get some very strong super glue and stuck the metal pieces back on that way, but u have to let it dry completely before trying to fasten the dash back on and u have to make sure you have it placed correctly so that the screws can go through the dash and directly into the screw holes. Hopefully this helps

Re: Replacement Dash
Jim,
I would use a good 2 part epoxy to secure the mounting tabs back to the dash.

Re: Replacement Dash
Thanks for the suggestions; I ended up using a couple of small metal straps (radio back straps) screwed to the underside of the dash and then screwed into the 2 metal tabs that the dash rests on, worked great.
Re: Replacement Dash
Does anyone know where I can get the bolt clips that clip to the plastic behind the dashboard that the dash bolts screw into? I need one and I can't seem to find them anywhere.
Thanks,
Chris

Re: Replacement Dash
you can take your bolt"i think its 6mm/1.25 pitch"to a body supply shop and buy a small box of them
when you do everything correct people arent sure youve done anything at all (futurama)
