New interior completed

Post by spidernut »

I decided to get the interior on the 80 finished up today. It was a good project: finished installing original Fiat stereo, installed new Blaupunkt speakers, cleaned and vinyl painted kick panels, back panels, rear drip panels, secured the carpet, anchored everything back down. With the dash cap and console cap, new seat covers, new door panels and new carpeting, I'm pleased overall. The door panels and seat colors don't match, so I'll probably have to get some custom SEM vinyl paint mixed up to match. I'm really pleased with the look of the walnut wood panels and my in-dash cup holder! It was a good day working on the car! What do you think of how it turned out?

Where did you get the walnut wood panels for the dash? I do like it a lot. I am challenged to find the right shade of cream/tan for my seats and side panels. Why there are so many shades of tan/camel/beige/cream/light brown -- It makes a simple job a complication.

The walnut panels came with the car but hadn't been installed. Every receipt that I had from the prior owner was from Bayless except for the seat upholstery. I'd guess it came from them, but you never know.

I know what you mean on the tan. I had to get vinyl paint to do the console and door panels in my 79 so that everything would match. I also recall that when I bought my 81 new that the leather seats didn't match the console and door panels either.
