Winter Time Blues

Post by mostlytwowheeled »

March..... Rain yesterday, snowin' out today. "Tony" sitin' out in the backyard under a tarp. Downstairs on the bench.... parts... new fuel pump, new 32/36 carb, modified intake, Car Talk on the radio. How bleak can it be? All us poor Michigan Spider drivers wondering if its ever going to end? What can we expect, being here north of the Artic Circle? At least we're still breathing! Well my frozen buddies..... are you ready to DRIVE???? :(

I feel your pain. I'm on Vancouver Island on the west coast of Canada. It's supposed to be warm here. It snowed yesterday. It's 0 deg C this morning. This winter thing really sucks.

This is the worst winter/spring month here. It's ALWAYS cold, damp, raining or snowing in March. But spring can break through real strong in April, sunny and warm. Then...... who knows what can happen in may. All I know is that as soon as the snow is gone, cold or not, I'm going for a drive with the top down! Heater and hat on! :D

I feel your pain. I moved to the St Louis area from Michigan in 1980. Yesterday I went for a 2 hour bike ride and then for a top down drive in my 82 spider temp in the low 60's.

Now today the sun is out, the snow is melting but the air is cold. Hang on there in Vermont, sunshine is coming your way! I can here that twin cam running and feel the wind. What a difference a sunny day makes!!!

Was a trip to the neighbour city on friday where my Spider is in winter hibernation. One flat tyre.
But there's light in the tunnel. When I came out, I noticed the sun had started to thaw on the ice and snow. So, maybe, in one-and-a-half month the Spider is out again.

I would expect that in Norway once summer arrives you can drive almost 24hrs in daylight. Must be nice.

Ya, winter is really tough when you and you FIAT are seperated! At least if it's in the garage you can visit and tinker.

Worked under the hood on Friday. It was a nice sunny 40's temp day. I felt REALLY good being out in the warm sunshine :D .Put on a new fuel pump. Still more work to do. Now today,Saturday, it's grey, there's a cold wind blowing, it may snow/rain this evening  . The saying here in Michigan is "if you don't like the weather just wait a little, it'll change'.
