The little stuff

Post by watcher »

My wife and I just wanted to clean up a couple of things.

First the area near the parking brake was ratty. So we made a cardboard mold to get the size right. Than we used some 1/8" celtic (ABS sheet) heat formed the sleeve to the cardboard mold, in the oven using an old cake pan. Glued on the top, trim routed the inside, sanded the outside and than sprayed it with some flat black plastic paint. It is a real snug fit so we can remove it if we need to take out the console.

Second the passenger mirror cutout was unfinished, as stock. We got 3/16" O.D. tube made a cut the entire length. We than folded it back and slipped it inside the vinyl opening.

Cost : Tube 47 cents, cost of the ABS, free scrap. (If anyone wants any, pm me we have piles of the stuff to give away to Fiat fans.)

Total time: an afternoon

Fun level: Terrific, hang out with the wife and just goof around.
