The X is a 81.One owner car with 52000 miles. It was his first new car and has window sicker, loan papers,manuals,etc...Bought in Atl.,but has been here in the North Ga. mtns. for many years.Runs really well, but has some minor issues(wheel bearing, electrical glitches,etc...).I buffed out part of it today and the bright orange will come back(yuck).I much prefer the Spider.I dont care for the styling or the lack of comfort in the X.The wife though......

What do you mean by "lack of comfort" I have been thinking of an X for a commuter car but now... I'm 6' 1" so I wonder if I will fit.

I have to say I've never been a HUGE fan of X's, but that's a darn nice one right there. Makes me want to reconsider...

Craig,

I had an X years ago and they are great little cars! Drop those bumpers and it will also look like a completely different car. They are indeed not as comfortable as a Spider but they have good balance. And, you can can spin one 180 on a wet metal roadbed bridge and never leave your lane (don't ask me how I know! :D ). If the wife decides it needs to go back to the pound I might be interested.

BTW, the 76 is registered and running fine. Not trying to rub salt in wound but thought you'd like to know. My 80 on the other hand has a weird brake clunk and pull that I haven't yet figured out! It's always something.

Hi Craig,
Nice catch! I like it. I see your recovering from all that hard work at the FFO. George

Zippy, for me(6'1) the seat doesnt go back far enough for a comfortable leg position.I find my right leg angled against the console and almost touching the wheel. The footwell is very narrow, and the pedals very close together.Their is a area in the footbox for your left foot, but it is raised and again,my leg is bent at a angle. In comparison, the Spider feels like a limo! :D

Thanks for the info. I guess I will scratch it off my list. Sounds as uncomfortable as our old Subaru. I used to have to put something between the door and my knee to keep it from getting sore on long trips .

Nice find, Craig! Those little boogers really do handle well; would be a great option for the Tail. Particularly if it shed some weight, bigger tires, 2-litre Spider TC, etc.
