Had this on one of my Fiats once but I think it leaked oil inside. Was going to give it a go again but cant remember how it hooks up or who made it. Has Red, Black and Purple wires:

Re: Recognize this Electronic Distributor unit?
That is the old Allison XR700 unit that is now sold by Crane.
It is an optical system, an LED points down towards the sensor, the plastic wheel on the shaft blocks the light from the LED and the slots in it allow light through to the sensor which the control box then switches the coil to fire. The spark proceeds in the normal fashion to the rotor to the plugs in the normal fashion. This is a good system when new and is all solid state, you do need to use a non resistor coil however as I recall.

Re: Recognize this Electronic Distributor unit?
Thanks for the model # and seems that the Allison XR700 Purple wire goes to Ground as found on a triumph forum post. Would make sense as I think it had a larger terminal. So Black to coil neg, red to coil positive and purple to ground. I may give it a go or atleast I can sell it and tell them how its hooked up. Thanks everyone!
