Just ordered a Weber 38 DGAS. It will be going on a single plane 1800 manifold on my '77. I will give details on the upgrade as it progresses. I am told from a reliable source that it is a fairly easy mod with a little fabrication.
I don't know how it compares to dual carbs, but it seems to be the most performance for the buck in single carbs.
If you have experience with this conversion, please share your wisdom, and pictures of successful setups.
Thanks.
Mark
Weber 38 DGAS carb swap
Hi Mark,
I have fitted an 1800 maniofold and a Weber 38/38 DGAS carb.
After a lot of experimentation I ended up with:
Idle jets 60,
Main jets 135,
Accelerator jet 45,
Air corrections 200,
and emulsion tubes F50.
Incidentally, far from the jetting for the 2l TC Pinto which the carb came off.
Hope this could be a start if you are wanting to fit one of these nice carbs. Bit tricky to set up and drive because the two chokes open simultaneously, but has nice power at the top end.
Cheers,
Brian Spencer.
