The reason it was not shifting was that the actual shifter (skiing shaft or the dog) is frozen (red circled numbers). I took that top housing out (area in blue frame) and is now soaking in parts cleaner solution. Will continue to work on it tomorrow night.

Thank you Abey (Europa) for an excellent pdf on the tranny.

All for now. Good night.

What would make that part freeze up?

Rust...

Before:

After (well, really more like work in progress):

Cleaned the part with just a wired brush. Was able to break loose the shaft. Took it out, cleaned it, removed the surface rust with a fine sand paper... I still need to get some parts cleaner to finish cleaning before finally putting it back together. Just put it back together for the photos.

But now it is loose and moving freely. I need to get me one of those nice soda blasting units...

With all that work might want to invest in a parts cleaner. Castro super clean works wonders on cleaning up greasy parts. Never used it for rusty ones.

Yes, that too... time to check on what specials Harbor Freight has on those.

On the media blasters, I saw an article on Grassroots Motorsports that mentioned one for around 200.00. I will look around to see what the price range is on those. Right now I need to control any expense as that will go against the budget for the car...

Photo 1 is correct. Make sure you grease those parts when you do final install.
Val sold his business. These are the new prices.

If the correct position is photo 1, I have the same question... I don't get the need for that clip :?:

It is a spring that pushes against the little metal alignment nub. It helps keep it pushed to the other side so that the plastic round globe doesnt tear into the edges there.
