Trying to decide which direction I want to go with my interior.

How it was prior to being disassembled

I have these floormats

I'd like to get these pedals and other related accessories

Which begs a question... What steering wheel? For me this will define the car. I had planned on getting a Nardi Classico wheel like this
Image

But I could go a bit more racy and get a matching sparco wheel like this
Image

Exteriorly, the car will look similar to this:

Got my airdam in from Marks today.

This should give you an idea of the way I am going for turnsignals also.

Since you seem to be looking for opinions.........here are mine:

I like the Nardi wheel. It looks refined and upscale. A re-painted stock wheel looks better than that Sparco one.

As you are skilled with sheet metal and welding. Turn the rectangle into round for the turn signal. A round signal stuck into the current hole doesn't make it IMO.

I wish my interior was as nice as yours!

Well, Passenger floor is basically done. What a mess... metal is so thin and full of impurities... i have yet to go over the welds with a sander, so this is "raw"

Image

Image

The next project... Drivers floor. Worse. Going to cut whole sections out and just weld those two plates in for starters.

Image

Got to do a little polishing on my manifold earlier... taking a welding break.
Image

My sweet freshly rebuilt 34adf will be on it soon enough

Ordered my flowmaster 60series muffler and a door mirror "bullet style" last night. I have basically all the parts needed to get the car together now. If I could just get the floors done i could start getting the interior back in it...

My car is super loud, so it needs serious muffling. The turn signals are off a first gen mustang. I ordered the clear lenses separate. I will be installing the turns this week. Will post pics.

As you will recall, I ordered a pacesetter monza resonated tip for my exhaust and it looked like this:

Image

It sounded... terrible. I have no cats or anything, just a small center muffler... so it was terrible. I decided to get one of flowmasters rather mild mufflers (flowmaster 60-series with 2" inlet and outlet) for the car.Let me just say the muffler was bigger than I thought! It got here yesterday and looked like this:

Image

Got to work, and finished everything in about 3 hours. :)

To save length, I cut the majority of the pipe off of my tip, and completely removed the inlet and outlet from the muffler. I also removed the exhaust hangers from the old muffler to use on the new muffler!

Tip welded on, note how i had to shorten everything to make it fit.
Image

I put the muffler in place and held it there with my floor jack allowing me to tack weld the exhaust hangers in place, where I later finished the welding on the bench:
Image

I then put the muffler back on the car and got everything lined up where I wanted it. I then put two or three huge nasty welds on the exhaust pipe to hold it to the muffler. I could then remove the muffler and exhaust piece together to finish weld on the bench

Image

quite an extreme bend to get the most room as was possible
Image

Finished product is pretty great!
Image

not -quite the right color, lol
Image

oh, and I set my pants on fire at one point, lol.
Image

It is perhaps just a little louder than stock, and is very deep and throaty. I have a video uploading and will post it when done.

Exhaust... Check! on to the next thing!

Backfiring like a beast! lol. This is with my crap stock poorly tuned 1979 carb. Its gone once I get my floors sorted in favor of my single plane manifold and 34adf.

Finished welding these in earlier also

My car has SERIOUS metal impurity issues. Serious. I'd bet that is why it has so much freakin rust.

I'd be able to comment further if I could drive the car... but that is a long way off still. Tomorrow I will start the drivers side floor...

On a side note, my door mirror came in today!
