Spiderry (1 rad 71) OH that is funny. I see it was a blue plate. I bet that was in the 80's. I can just immagine someone driving down the road with that plate wearing a "Jobbers" hat with the tails blowing in the wind. HA HA HA HA and a pair of checkered shorts HA HA HA and checkered Vans HA HA! Oh, I can almost hear the Duran Duran playing on the radio. Really, that's funny and I am totally thinking about myself behind the wheel back in the 80's. Too funny, thanks for that.

Here's one I thought of this weekend FXITAGN. Yeah, it a play on the old Tony saying. But it works.

Had it picked before I registered the car (approx 10 min) originally I went with ITSYBTSY however, it was already taken (Toyota Corolla?)

@4uall - A Corolla doesn't deserve that plate! But yours is a little more interesting because of it.

Katsi. I got that plate around 80'. Right after I dropped a low mileage 2 liter into my 71 with headers, webers from Bayless and a new 74 dizzy. Dont know what a jobbers hat is but I still listen to Duran Duran.

I had my '74 at the same time, but I was more into the NYC/English Punk/New Wave scene like Talking Heads, Clash, Patti Smith, etc. My '74 was cherry red w black top and tan interior and had random NJ plates "711-ROC". Did you ever get it finished and painted? Do you still have it?

giuliot60, I listen to a lot of different music. Back then It was mostly KROQ. Alternative music. My stock plates were 108 DSR, I still have them in the garage too. No I never got it painted. I was driving that vw bus to school when my mom bought the Fiat from her boss. After she and her husband dented both doors and the back of the spider I stopped driving the bus and took the spider from my mom. I modded the car and got all the body work done. Then the GTI came out in 83 and I sold my Fiat and bought a new GTI.

After my kids were mostly grown I got back into Fiats. Took along time to find a 71, baby blue. Then I came across a one owener 70 for 700, looked at my 71 and decided it was junk. So I now have a 70

The GTIs were nice drivers spiderey. Good deal on the '70. Is it the red one in the photo? She's very nice looking. Do you run it without a hood often?

The photo was taken just a few days after that engine was installed. Its been run alot without a hood and run with the original flat hood, and at times with a franken hood.
