my apology to beek
the valve was at the machine shop. i did delivery them, but when he said they where not there then i assumed that i never had them in the first place, so im sorry that i accuse you of not sending them

another question is this , i have marks cams . 410 f i . says on the boxes ( both )
now one cam has a gear on it.what side does it go on, he said he has never seen that so he called to find out

Cam with gear between 3 and 4 is the exhaust cam. Gear drives the distributor.

Sorry, too much info. The distributor sits towards the back of the exhaust cam box, between #3 and #4 cylinder.
In any case, if the cam has a gear on it, it is an exhaust cam.

If you bought cams from Mark the lash is written on the slip of paper that came with the cams.

It may be listed as clearance, and will probably have an intake and exhaust measurement.

Aftermarket cams do not have the same lash as stock cams.

Jim, Buying a case of shims is really un necessary. Once you measure the gap, you can buy individual ones from AR. If you have an old head with shims, all you need is one to put in each location and gap the difference, then order the correct shims for all locations. Just be sure to write down where they go. r/

He wanted me to order a 2.55 and 3.00. So he can have a starting point ,so I have them coming

Nope mark, one of his buddy's I believe did his, it wasn't the guy from crookston
But if my memory is right I thought he ordered his head from Vicks, I'm almost positive
