:( Groan! But there's that new top, and wood steering wheel, and ...

Maybe after I get tired of the "Flowmaster Sound" :?:

It's a shame you won't be here on Sunday; the route we've laid out is terrific. A bit of the twisty bits like your DixieFest wooded section, and lots of rolling farmland, too. You still thinking of coming up for the October car show? It's quite a haul from W/S, I know, but maybe if I had your spunk I could arrange a similar venue next Autumn.

I'm a little supprised, I would have thought you would get more than 125hp with all those mods. By the way, the top is down 90 percent of the time and the sound from a good exhaust will make you smile and bring more satisfaction than a shinny wood steering wheel.

Hi !

I have finally got a dyno test on my car. I was a little surprised that the HP wasnt better, but the toque is good.
All the numbers are " on the wheels", after the loss in the driveline.
My friend whos has build the engine will look at the numbers , and find out hwat we have to do to get more HP. It really should have been some more. But the torque is good :-)

PS. not sure if I have got the pictures right, but you can see them at my homesite

If I understood your car history correctly you have a 2L head on a 1800 engine. If this is so, even after surfacing your compression would be low. Just a thought...

Hi!

I have a 2,0 l Strada 130 TC engine with these spec:

* New Abarth 130TC big valve head, upgraded new billet fast road inlet cam with 10.65 lift, original 1608 exhaust cam, rejetted 40 IDFs with 34 chokes and new Ram Pipes

* My friend have build a new 2 liter engine and put the 130TC head on it. here is the spec:

10:1+ pistons
130 TC head - 36 mm parallel intake - 34 mm exhaust + valve + guide + seat mods
44 IDF - 36 chokes, F16, 145 mains, 180 air
Inlet cam billet - 10.45 true lift, 280 degrees, 2.5 lift TDC - timed 110
Exhaust cam 1608 - used but still OK I suppose (9.3 lift on lobes) - timed 110
Exhaust manifold 4-2 cast iron into 2-1 secondary pipes - (standard 1800 sport) - 2 " free flow system from manifold and back

Congratulations on getting your engine sorted out. Yes, professional tuners can really make a difference, much as us amateurs hate to admit it

Looks like you've got it "dialed in" for everyday use, with torque peak at 60 mph in 5th. No downshifting required, eh? :D

Thanks .
does anyone know how much the power loss in drivetrain/transmission is in a Spider ( approx) :-)

About 20 HP, according to a Mazda Miata builder/tuner/racer that tested my car. He has chassis dyno'd engines fresh from an engine dyno, and says that on his setup, he sees a 20% loss difference. So 104 RWHP equates to about 125 SAE net.

Thanks again!

A bit strange , its a tuned Strada/Ritmo 130 TC engine, with originally 130HP, so it really should have been a bit more.
Well at least the torque is higher then the original , he he. My engine builder will look at the numbers , maybe we will put the intake cam to exhaust and get an another intake cam. Then take a new dyno test.

Lol., reading this, I? have to add my own funny story. Blew the enging last summer (about a month after I got it...).

Bought a rebuilt engine from a supplier in another city, and had a mechanic who 1)had never seen a Fiat and 2)gave me great rates install the engine.

Was a little dissapointed by the lack of zoom, and the still rough idle... Last weekend, while waiting for my girlfriend to get ready, I poked around under the hood... Lo! there were some sort of electric clips going to the Injectors, but only 3 were plugged in! The fourth has a slightly mangled clip...

Unsure if/when it got disconnected, but MUCH happier with the zoom out of my sweet car NOW!!!

Going to drop it at a mechanic who used to specialize in Fiats to dial in the idle, etc. Will still use the other mech for brakes, etc...
Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, we have decided to turn off the light at the end of the tunnel. We apologize for any inconvenience.
