I assumed it was a reference to Wobble Bolts?

well to add to that, the few things he said were utter rubbish. "like the suspension improvement" by cutting the springs!!!!! or the 16v engine, or the alloy wheels having the wrong size holes, so they don't run true or something along those lines. What was that all about?
totally! what was that all about? go over 50, and the wheels will fall off?!?

FYI!! Saw a trailer this morning that the Spider episode will be on this Monday July 13 at 9pm Eastern on BBC America :D Since, I have only had mine for a couple of months. I really would not mind restoring it to look like the one in the episode, after they were done "tinkering".

hello all, just back from holiday and watched the show

this was my car on the show, total disortion on the standard of the spider which was a perfect example. (x2 top gear engineers inspected it prior to purchase)
the wheels and wheel nuts were correct size
no oil leaks at all
engine ran perfect
bonnet badge was fitted but taken off in prep for painting in first screening
heater and fan worked fine
Clarkson never moaned about a leaking rof as it never leaked!
one minute it was running on 3 cylinders, next was running fine - no contentuenity in filming, suspect it was staged
Clarkson hates the classic - kitcar scene and wanted to promote his biased views to make a programme = sham

glad i didn't go to the studio as i may of lost my cool and may have voiced the truth!

Then i guess the attack in Argentina was staged as well despite it hitting the news. ----> Ratings

That's what I thought and I feel your pain. As I have already mentioned I really hope they didn't trash your car and send it to the shredder. Any idea what they did with/to the car afterwards? When I saw the really poor uneven blackout paint job they did on the hood I had a feeling this was headed in a bad direction for the car.

top gear now don't sell on their cars so no doubt it will sit in a corner of the studio gathering dust

Details at 21:00 on BBC2.

Next you'll be telling me that the Triumph Owners' Club got their knickers in a twist when they thrashed a Dolly Sprint.

Oh...
Only when a forum member sold it to them on the understanding that they needed it for a serious piece on classic cars then to find out after the fact that quite the opposite was true would I be upset at the mendacity. If they said up front that they were going to trash the car I am pretty sure our forum member would not have sold it to them and would have waited for a more serious buyer.

We should have you watch the US version of Top Gear. If you had guns you would shoot your TV.

Hi,
which type of rims did your spider have on initially ?
I have a set of similar wheels (with less spokes though... but did not research them yet).
Thanks !

the alloys fitted were 13" alfa/ fiat wheels with the correct bolts fitted and did go over 50 mph with no issues (even when a TG mechanic tested it prior to purchase at well over the speed limit)
The whole show was a sham, the car was partialy butchered on the opening vt and got worse. When you sell in good faith and they do that amount of BS to slate a car for a few minutes of entertainment was pathetic.

Exactly my initial reaction when BBC pulled the show.
